Al-Sailiya shock Al-Ahli in Ali Alwan deal

Red Gin’s new deal hits an unexpected snag

Egyptian club Al-Ahly have held talks with Qatari Al-Sailiya striker Ali Alwan with a view to signing him in the current summer transfer window to strengthen their front line ahead of the start of the new season.

The Jordanian striker had participated in the finals of the 2026 World Cup with his country’s Nashama national team, but Jordan’s journey ended in the group stage with three defeats to Austria, Algeria and Argentina.

Moroccan Hussein Amouta, Al-Ahly’s technical director, is fully aware of Alwan’s capabilities, having previously overseen his training during his time in charge of the Jordanian national team before taking over the technical charge from compatriot Jamal Al-Salami.

It was revealed in this context Al Qas channel in Qatar Egypt’s “Al Ahly” has officially submitted a request to “Al-Sailiya” club to acquire Ali Alwan in the summer transfer period.

The channel added that its sources confirmed that Al Sailiya’s management did not approve the financial offer presented by Al Ahly, noting that the Qatari club insisted on the value of the penalty clause in the player’s contract before completing the deal.
