Al-Ittihad withdraw deal for Najm Al-Nasr and compete with him for Saudi Arabia international.

Al-Ittihad have backed out of a deal to sign their arch-rivals star Al-Nasr in the upcoming summer transfer window, preferring to compete with him to sign the Saudi Arabia international.

The Saudi press confirmed earlier that the club Al-Ittihad close to signing Al-Nasr winger Abdul Rahman Gharibnext summer to Mercato on a free basis after his contract expires at the end of the current season.

However Okaz newspaper, Saudi Arabia He confirmed that the deal had stalled on the initial agreement between the two parties, with no new developments since then, indicating its likely failure.

Al-Ittihad, meanwhile, began to move in another direction to sign Al-Ittifaq and Saudi Arabia winger Khaled Al-Ghannam in next summer’s Mercato.

However, the paper revealed that there is a split within the Al-Jedawi club’s board of directors, especially as the deal will cost the club a lot of money, unlike Abdul Rahman Gharib, who will join for free.

A deal for Al-Ghannam doesn’t just look difficult because of internal division, but also because of the competition he will have from Al-Nasr Club itself, as well as Al-Qadisiya, as they are also keen on signing the Al-Etifaq star.

The 25-year-old was in excellent form last season in the Roshan League, where he was the top scoring Saudi player with 13 goals in 32 appearances in addition to seven assists.
