Al-Ahli of Egypt… Officially. Announcing Jose Gomez’s new direction

Portugal coach Jose Gomez’s destination has been officially decided, a move that ends recent controversy surrounding his managerial future.

The Saudi Gulf club, via its official account on the X platform, announced a two-season deal for Gomez to take over coaching duties from the new season as part of the club’s plan to strengthen the technical staff in preparation for the upcoming advantage.

The signing comes after an outstanding experience for the Portuguese coach with Al-Fateh, where he succeeded in his first assignment, keeping the team in the Rushen League last season before finishing last season in eleventh place with 37 points.

Former Zamalek coach Jose Gomez was previously linked with the possibility of coaching Egypt’s Al-Ahly amid media reports of Red Fort’s interest in signing him, before his compass finally turned towards the Gulf.

Last season, Al-Haleij finished 12th in the Saudi League standings with 37 points.
