Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli have entered negotiations to sign one of the star players of the Moroccan national team as they prepare to sign him in the current summer transfer window.
The player has been linked with a move to Al Ittihad in recent days following his remarkable brilliance with Morocco at the 2026 World Cup.
According to what journalist Mohamed Al-Baqiri revealed, “Al-Raqi” has become a direct competitor to secure the services of Moroccan and Spanish “Girona” midfielder Azedin Ounahi in the current summer transfer period.
Ounahi helped the Atlas Lions reach the quarter-finals before losing to France (0-2). The Moroccan midfielder also managed to score two goals in a big 3-0 win over Canada in the round of 16, confirming his artistic value in the biggest forums.

Al-Ittihad were not the only ones showing interest in Onahi, as the player’s name was also linked with several European clubs, led by Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam. However, Al-Ahly’s entry into the negotiation line gives the deal new dimensions, especially given the club’s desire to strengthen the midfield with a player who has quality and international experience.
Al-Ahly seem to see Onahi as an ideal replacement for the departure of Ivorian Franck Kesse, who refused to extend his contract.
