Against Curaçao… Kese follows in the footsteps of Drogba in Ivory Coast.

The Al-Ahly player is making history with his country’s national team

Following in the footsteps of Cote d’Ivoire legend Didier Drogba, Saudi Al-Ahly midfielder Franck Kessier participated in the 2026 World Cup against Curaçao.

Kese started the match between Ivory Coast and Curaçao, today, Thursday, in the third and final round of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the Status Foot network, this is the Al-Ahly midfielder’s 105th match with the Ivorian national team in various competitions since he first joined them in 2014.

Thus, Kese equals the number recorded by the Ivorian legend Didier Drogba, who also participated in 105 matches for the “Elephants”.

It is noteworthy that Kesse scored 15 goals and 9 other goals in all the matches he participated in for the Ivorian national team before facing Curaçao.
