After the joy of New Zealand… an unexpected crisis hits the pharaohs’ camp

Plans for Egypt’s national team’s technical headquarters have hit a wall of American security measures after authorities refused to allow the Pharaohs’ delegation to stay in Seattle after the 2026 World Cup clash with New Zealand.

National team manager Ibrahim Hassan revealed in official statements released by the Egyptian federation that the technical staff sought to move directly from Vancouver (Canada) to Seattle (Washington State) to avoid exhausting the players before the decisive showdown against Iran scheduled for next Saturday (6am Cairo time).

Hasan added that the security decision forced the delegation to change its plans and return to the city of Spokane, the official residence, to complete preparations for the expected fateful match in the third round of the Group of Seven.

This comes on the heels of Egypt’s historic 3-1 victory over New Zealand, their first World Cup finals win since their first appearance in 1934.
