“International” is starting a new phase… Will it succeed?
Al-Nasr Club managed to get their first victory in their away camp ahead of the start of the new football season 2026-2027, at the expense of the third division team.
In the second friendly match of Al-Alami club in its foreign camp in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, “Al-Nasr” defeated Merida, who plays in the third division of Spain, with a score of 2-0.
Mohamed Maran opened the scoring for the Saudi Arabian national team in the 11th minute of the match, before Harun Kamara scored the second ball in the 58th minute.
Australian Ange Postecoglou, coach of Al-Nasr team, started the game with only 3 foreign players: Brazilians Pinto and Angelo, and French defender Mohamed Simakan, while the other Brazilian, Wesley and Iraqi Haider Abdel Karim, were included in the second half.
This victory was the first for the Australian coach’s team in Portugal in their overseas camp, when they suffered a surprise defeat against Benfica’s reserve team with a score of 1-2 in the first friendly match.
It is noteworthy that the former coach of the Al-Nasr team, Portuguese Jorge Jesus, came to the “Al-Alami” camp before the game, and shook hands with the players and the new coach Ange Postecoglou.
