After rumors about cruciate ligaments… Schubert ends controversy over Imam Ashur’s injury.

Former Al-Ahly goalkeeper, journalist Ahmed Shubert has settled the controversy surrounding the injury of Al-Ahmar midfielder Imam Ashour, which he sustained yesterday, Tuesday, in the Egyptian Premier League match against Enppi.

Imam Ashour contributed to Al-Ahly’s 3-0 victory, but he suffered a serious knee injury minutes before the end of the match, which forced him to cry on the pitch.

Imam Ashur could not leave the field on his feetHe waited for an ambulance to take him to the dressing rooms, assisted by Mahmoud Abdel Moneim ‘Kahraban’, the current Enppi and former Al-Ahly star.

Some rumors circulated on social media suggesting that Imam Ashour’s injury could be a torn cruciate ligament.

Ashour fears that this injury will affect his chances of participating in the World Cup with the Pharaohs, which is scheduled to begin in about a month in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

But Schubert reassured Al-Ahly and Egypt fans about Imam Ashour, stressing that his injury is minor and will only last a few days.

Shubert said during his radio program “On Sport FM” on Wednesday morning. “There is no concern for Al-Ahly or the Egyptian national team. Imam Ashur’s injury is just a bruise and it won’t last more than a few days.”

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian national team is in the seventh group of the world championship, together with the national teams of Belgium, New Zealand and Iran.
