Jesus announced his departure after one season in charge of Al-Nasr, where he helped them win the Saudi Roshen League title after a seven-year absence, in addition to qualifying for the 2nd final of the AFC Champions League, before losing to Gamba Osaka.

Before Al-Nasr, the Portuguese coach managed two spells at Al-Hilal and won four titles with them, including the Roshen League title and the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, in addition to two Saudi Arabian Super Cup titles.
