Wassily became Diria’s fifth signing of the current summer transfer window, following Amin Al-Bukhari from Al-Fateh, Saeed Al-Roubah from Al-Ukhdoud, Hatan Bahbari from Al-Khouloud and Senegalese Clayton Diandy from Aris Thessaloniki in Greece.

Vasili has had a distinguished career which has seen him play for numerous Bosnian clubs before moves to Nürnberg in Germany, Zorya Lugansk in Ukraine and finally St. Pauli, which he led to promotion to the German league.

The 30-year-old was also the main goalkeeper for Bosnia at the 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico and led them to the round of 32, but he conceded eight goals in four games, an average of two per game.
