After 7 years…Union loses one of its leaders for free

“Dean” is starting to prepare for the new season

Saudi Al-Ittihad Saudi club lost one of their leaders for free after he left their ranks for free in the summer transfer window.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya tweeted via its official website X account that Al-Ittihad’s Abdulaziz Al-Bishi left the team on a free transfer in the summer Mercato.

The newspaper clarified that the Saudi winger has already signed his transfer contracts with Al-Ittifaq club after his contract with Al-Ittihad expired at the end of the season.

Al-Bishi has been with Al-Amid since he joined them in January 2019 from Al-Faisali and spent the 2023-2024 season on loan at Damak before returning to become one of the team’s leaders.

In that time, the 32-year-old has made 162 appearances for Al-Ittihad in various competitions, scoring 11 goals and assisting 16, as well as helping them win the Saudi League title twice, the King’s Cup once and the Super Cup.

Al-Bishi’s stock fell last season as he made 24 appearances, most of them off the bench, and scored just one goal.

Notably, Al-Etifaq will be the sixth club to represent Al-Bish at the first team level in his football career, following Al-Shabaab, Al-Taawun, Al-Faisal, Al-Ittihad and Damaq.
