Actor Ted Lasso signed with the US pro football team

35-year-old Mexican actor Cristo Fernandez has transitioned from playing professional soccer on fictional TV to real life after signing with Club America.

Fernandez – who plays Dani Rojas in the popular TV series Ted Lasso – has signed with USL Championship side El Paso Lokomotiv FC, the second-highest league in the US.

He told the BBC that playing professional football was “a dream come true” and that the famous Ted Lasso phrase “football is life” was his own invention.
