A woman has been arrested after she was stabbed to death in west London.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death in Hayes, west London.

The Met Police said officers were called to a property on Uxbridge Road shortly before 8:00 BST where they found a 24-year-old woman stabbed. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was found outside the property with stab wounds. The force said it was awaiting updates on the situation.

Officers located a 44-year-old man matching the description of the suspect nearby and arrested him. He said he was injured after jumping from the window and taken to the hospital.

Det Ch Insp Allam Bhangoo said: “It’s a shocking incident.”

“At this time, our thoughts are with both the victims and their loved ones, supported by specialist officers,” he said.

“Our inquiries are at an early stage but we do not believe there is any further threat to the public. However, we would like to hear from anyone who saw anything or has any information to assist our investigation.”

“We know this incident poses a significant threat to the community and residents can expect additional police presence in the area over the coming days.”
