A surprise on Inzaghi’s future with Al Hilal

What is the truth about the departure of the Italian coach?

Media reports have revealed a surprising development regarding the future of Italian Simone Inzaghi as Al Hilal coach after he was recently linked with a possible exit from the club following a season in which he failed to live up to expectations.

The Italian coach failed to take Al Hilal to the top of the podium in his first season, losing in every league he competed in, settling for being crowned the custodians of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.

According to a report in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Inzaghi’s chances of continuing with Al-Hilal have increased significantly as his retention rate has reached around 70% as the administration waits until a final decision is officially made.

Sources have clarified that the manager’s job is still part of ongoing strategic discussions between the club’s management and owners, with the expected new sporting director to play a key role in making a final decision in the coming period.

According to the same sources, Al Hilal’s strategic plan is to implement a development project in two phases, the first of which is to increase the quality of the current squad by up to 50% in the summer transfer market, and the second phase is focused on strengthening the club’s artistic identity and implementing a long-term strategy.

One of the most obvious factors in favor of Inzaghi’s continuation appears to be the financial aspect, as Al Hilal officials prefer not to pay the cost of an early termination fee, while instead channeling that money into strengthening the squad with quality deals that could increase their chances of competing in the season.

Management believes the move will allow the club to rebuild the squad in a more balanced manner, in addition to allowing enough time to fully evaluate the Italian coach and explore future coaching options without pressure or hasty decisions.

Between the criticism leveled at Inzaghi after a disappointing season and the desire to invest financial resources in the transfer market, it seems that the Italian coach is closer than ever to getting another chance to lead Al Hilal in the final season of his contract.
