A serious move from the management of Barça

Barcelona have taken an official step towards reviving their European front after submitting a comprehensive file to the European Football Association to host the 2029 Champions League final at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium.

The Catalan club announced in an official statement that the file was submitted in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council and the Regional Government of Catalonia and with the direct support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

and:“Barcelona” explained that the application file meets all the technical, contractual and institutional requirements set by UEFA.It includes the necessary guarantees that confirm the readiness of the city and the stadium to organize one of the biggest football events in the world.

The move will complete the first phase of the nomination process, followed by an evaluation phase that the European Union will conduct over the coming months before selecting the winning stadium to host the 2029 final.

The Catalan club noted that Barcelona has a long record of hosting international sporting events, while the Camp Nou is one of Europe’s historic stadiums, having hosted previous major finals at continental and global levels.

The statement noted that the stadium is currently undergoing a complex development process within the framework of the Espai Barça project, which when completed will make it one of the most modern stadiums in the world in terms of capacity, technology and services.

UEFA is expected to announce the stadium to host the 2029 final in the final quarter of this year, amid competition from several other European bids that the federation has yet to officially reveal.
