An unprecedented historical event in the Rushen League
Saudi Arabia’s Roshan League will have a date with history next season after deciding to conquer the Asian continent in the form of the English Premier League.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced today, Wednesday, that 8 of its teams will participate in overseas tournaments next season, either at the Asian or Gulf level.
Al-Nasr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahly and Al-Qadisia clubs will participate directly in the elite AFC Champions League starting from the league stage. Meanwhile, “Al-Ittihad” will start the tournament from the preliminary stage, when they will meet “Al-Jazeera” of the United Arab Emirates..
On the other hand, “Al-Taawun” club will participate in AFC Champions League 2, together with “Al-Ittifaq” and “NEOM” clubs, which participate in the Gulf Champions Club Championship.
This season will be the biggest ever for Roshan League clubs to participate in foreign competitions, after the number of Saudi clubs went from 3 to 5 in the Elite League and from 1 to 2 in the Gulf Champions League.
This exceptional participation is a reminder of the dominance of the English Premier League last season as well as the following season, with 9 of its clubs participating in all three European championships, an unprecedented record.
“Arsenal”, “Manchester City”, “Manchester United”, “Aston Villa” and “Liverpool” will participate in the next season of the Champions League, and “Bournemouth”, “Sunderland” and “Crystal Palace” will participate in the Europa League in addition to “Brighton” of the Conference League.
