A Saudi Arabian helicopter crashed and killed 14 passengers

State media reported yesterday that 14 people died in a helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia.

The helicopter, owned by state oil company Aramco, crashed in the east coast city of Ras Tanura at 06:00 local time (03:00 GMT), killing all on board, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

He reported that all 14 are Saudi citizens who are being investigated to find out the cause of the accident.

Aramco did not immediately comment.

The Saudi Ministry of Energy expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.

Ras Tanura is home to Aramco’s main oil refinery – the largest in the Middle East.

The company resumed loading crude oil at the site on Friday after a four-month shutdown due to the Middle East war, Reuters news agency reported.
