A rare shot.. Infantino raises Egypt’s flag after controversial exclusion from the World Cup!

FIFA President Gianni Infantino of Switzerland drew attention in a touching moment after Egypt’s exclusion from the 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico.

Egypt crashed out of the 2026 World Cup in the quarter-finals after blowing a 2-0 lead to lose 2-3 to Argentina at the Atlanta Stadium on Tuesday.

Shortly after the match, Infantino appeared in the stands of the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada, to attend the final World Cup quarter-final match between Switzerland and Colombia.

Infantino’s appearance was unusual as he carried the Egyptian flag and posed for many commemorative photos with it in a rare event at football stadiums.

Egypt coach Hossam Hassan launched a strong attack on the International Football Federation (FIFA) for deliberately excluding the Pharaohs due to refereeing errors in order to keep Argentine star Lionel Messi in the tournament for marketing purposes.

It is noteworthy that the Swiss national team managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the World Cup by defeating the Colombian national team on penalties, with a goalless draw after the end of the main and extra time, setting the match against Argentina at dawn next Sunday.
