A pre-arrangement…a move between Juventus and the Madrid star

Movements in the transfer market suggest that one of the Spanish league’s most popular strikers could be on the verge of a new experience in the Italian league after attracting interest from Juventus.

Italian media reports that Juventus have reached a preliminary agreement on the personal terms of Atletico Madrid’s Norwegian striker Alexander Sorlot on a four-year contract, as the club continue to work to convince the Rojiblancos to part with the player’s services.

Juventus are on the hunt for a new striker and have confirmed that Serbian Dusan Vlahovic’s contract, which expires at the end of this month, will not be extended, prompting the club to step up their efforts in the summer transfer market.

Sorlot, along with Frenchman Randal Kolo-Mwani, are the two most prominent names on the Bianconeri’s table to strengthen the front line, while some reports suggest that signing one of them does not rule out the possibility of bringing in the other this summer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Juventus have reached a preliminary agreement with Sorlot’s representatives to sign a four-year contract for a salary of four million euros per year, one million euros more than his current salary with Atletico.

But newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport took a less optimistic view of the completion of the deal, stating that Atletico Madrid are under no pressure to leave the player at the moment, especially in light of interest from several English Premier League clubs in acquiring his services.

The newspaper added that the Spanish club would prefer to wait in the hope that the Norwegian forward’s market value will increase if he continues to perform strongly during the World Cup, which could allow him to receive a bigger financial offer.

It also noted that Atletico Madrid could benefit from a bidding war between clubs interested in signing Sorlot, while Juventus have set a financial threshold they do not want to exceed as they do not intend to pay more than €30 million to complete the deal.

Meanwhile, the two clubs continue to discuss the future of Argentine Nico Gonzalez, who has been linked with recent talks between the two sides, but reports confirm that any potential move to Sorlot would not be part of a swap deal involving the Argentine.
