A pioneering Australian doctor has died after a battle with brain cancer

As co-directors of the Melanoma Institute Australia, over the past decade the pair’s research into immunotherapy, which uses the body’s immune system to attack cancer cells, has dramatically improved outcomes in advanced melanoma patients worldwide. Half of them, less than 10%, are now essentially cured.
