“He knows a lot of plants and when he had a friend over a while ago he did a dangerous tour of all the poisonous or spiky plants,” Gemma said.

While the plants are native to Africa, Asia and South America, the couple doesn’t have to go far from home to find them – using rare and fine plant nurseries and garden centers.

“There are at least two in South Wales that sell a lot of exotic plants,” Dave said.

“There are places we go to in West Wales and North Wales as well as some places in England.”
