A man attacked by a bear at an ironworks in Japan


Four people suffered minor to moderate injuries in a bear attack at Japan’s Fukushima Steel Works.

Police and fire department officials rushed to a residential area in the city’s Sasakino district after receiving an emergency call from the steel works, where several workers were attacked by a bear.

Security camera footage shows a black bear chasing a worker near the campus entrance, knocking him to the ground before running into the building.

As of Tuesday night, the bear had still not been captured by authorities and was believed to be hiding in a building on the campus.

There are two types of bears in Japan – Asiatic black bears and large brown bears found on the island of Hokkaido.

In the year By 2025, the number of people killed by bears in the country will reach a record high.
