Anutin said that a musician who was performing at the pub told him that he saw smoke coming from the electric circuit near the stage before the power went out, and an explosion was heard and thick smoke quickly filled the place.

Most of the victims were found in the restrooms, at the back of the mall, Anutin added.

Videos shared online by first responders showed flames burning out of the front door of the Na Ladprao pub in the north of the Thai capital. People were seen trying to escape as thick black smoke billowed into the sky. Rescuers said the fire was reported around midnight.

Firefighters took about half an hour to put out the fire. The following pictures show tables and chairs on fire, as well as the interior of the ruined pub.
