A deal for Gordon would prompt Barcelona to offload Rashford.

The possible joining of the English “Newcastle” winger Anthony Gordon to “Barcelona” threatens the survival of his compatriot Marcus Rashford in the ranks of the Catalan club next season.

Some press publications testified to that “Barcelona” agreed with Gordon on personal termsFormal negotiations have begun with Newcastle to settle the deal.

Rashford, on the other hand, has been with Barcelona on loan from Manchester United this season and has a €30 million buyout clause, but Barcelona’s financial crisis is making him hesitate before making a final decision.

Manchester United are rejecting Barcelona’s offers and insisting on €30m to complete the deal, but Barcelona are currently trying to put pressure on United by taking advantage of Rashford’s desire and the opportunity to complete the Gordon deal.

“In Manchester, they believe that if Barcelona can get Gordon, whose value is estimated at €70m, then they can sign Rashford for €30m. Moreover, they demand to clarify the situation as soon as possible, because they need to plan their future team in which they are not dependent on Rashford, and his real wages will create a problem for Manchester United’s recovery.”

Those close to Rashford are relieved and confident of Barcelona’s promise to try to complete his transfer deal, as the player has done everything to stay and he is also ready to push for at least another year to extend his contract with the Catalan club.

Barcelona believe a loan deal, with or without an option to buy, is the only way for Rashford to stay at Camp Nou. Otherwise, they will have to offer a significant reduction in his transfer fee (30 million euros), something that Manchester United will not do to avoid problems with the fans.
