A clean sweep of candidates supported by Mamdani in the New York Democratic primary

Schlossberg, 33, lost to Assemblyman Micah Lasher in a race to replace incumbent Congressman Jerry Nadler. Lasher was Nadler’s assistant.

Caroline Kennedy’s son Schlossberg is a Vogue reporter, Harvard Law School graduate and political newcomer known for his social media posts.

Another running in the 12th district was George Conway, the conservative attorney who founded the anti-Trump group, The Lincoln Project. He managed to win only 6 percent of the vote.

Mamdani gave no support in that race.

“It’s not just a question of electing more Democrats, it’s a question of electing better Democrats,” the mayor said earlier Tuesday.

“When I look at these candidates, I see in them a willingness to put working people back at the heart of our politics.”

But establishment Democrats in Washington worry that left-wing candidates may not appeal to swing voters in this November’s midterm elections.

All three candidates backed by Mamdani have pledged to “destroy ICE” and “hire the rich,” and have accused Israel of genocide, which it denies.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said of Mamdani: “We agree to strongly disagree.”

“A few primaries going one way or the other, in one or two states, is not going to change who we are as House Democrats.”
