De Zerby turned to his bench and introduced Maddison with five minutes remaining, but in a frantic 13 minutes of stoppage time, Kinski brilliantly thwarted Longstaff before Maddison’s strong penalty appeal was waved away after combining with Nmecha to ensure Nmecha shared the lead.

De Zerby: I expect Leeds to play like West Ham

Tottenham boss Roberto Di Zerbi speaks to Sky Sports:

“We played a good game, not great but there was a lot of pressure. We didn’t play calm.

“We wanted to win straight away. In the end, I think we have to fight until the end of the season. Leeds played well.

“We expect them to play like this against West Ham because it’s just like that.

“I’m sorry for the penalty we conceded because Matthies Tell scored a great goal. He’s very young and it’s not a problem for me. I’m happy for the attitude and mentality.

“We didn’t play well but that’s the relegation battle, you can’t play all the games calmly. We have to improve and change habits, the relegation battle is different than the Champions League battle.”
