80 to 5 million…Arsenal’s star is on the verge of leaving

Arsenal’s Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arribalaga is on the brink of leaving the Emirates Palace in search of a regular playing time next season.

Kepa joined Arsenal last summer but replaced first-choice goalkeeper David Raya, who had a superb season, winning the Premier League title andReaching the Champions League final before losing to PSG on penalties.

As reported by The Athletic, there is a clause in Kepa’s contract that allows him to leave the London club if Arsenal recovers the 5 million euros invested in his transfer from Chelsea.

While the Spanish goalkeeper appears to be content with his role as back-up, he could be tempted to move to a club where he becomes the first-choice goalkeeper, which would require Arsenal to come up with a new goalkeeper who can compete with Raya.

It is noteworthy that Chelsea bought Kepa from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for about 80 million euros, and in the 2023-2024 season he moved to Real Madrid on loan, then to Bournemouth in 2024-2025.
