Real Madrid president Florentino Perez won the presidential election in a landslide victory over his rival Enrique Riquelme with 65% of the members’ votes, ensuring he will remain in charge of Real until 2030 in his eighth term at the helm of the world’s biggest clubs.
Official figures released by the club showed Perez with 21,741 of the total votes, compared to 11,814 for businessman Enrique Riquelme, who received just 35%, reflecting the high level of confidence the current president has among the club’s fans.

This will be Florentino Perez’s eighth term as president of the Royals, in a managerial career that spanned 23 years, divided into two periods; the first from 2000 to 2006 and the second from 2009 to date without interruption.
During his two terms as president, Pérez led the club to achieve its greatest sporting and financial achievements, as the team won 66 titles, including 7 Champions Leagues in football and 3 in basketball, an unprecedented record that confirms the success of the 79-year-old president’s sporting project.
