Analysts at this World Cup have had plenty to cheer about considering the performances of all the big names, and Haaland and Kane are no exception.
Speaking after the win over Brazil, former England goalkeeper Joe Hart described Haaland as an “absolute monster”.
“It took all the stress out of everything,” Hart added. “He’s very relaxed, takes care of business on the pitch and enjoys every minute of the World Cup.”
Former England captain Wayne Rooney has given Haaland his entire country confidence that they can go far in the tournament.
The pair were equally beaming as they revealed Kane’s victory in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“It’s exciting,” Rooney said. “Like all great centre-forwards, he doesn’t even have to look at the goalkeeper – it’s instinctive.”
“He believed in his technique and he celebrated from the moment the ball left his foot,” added Hart.
Haaland and Kane have only played twice, both in three weeks, with Haaland winning the first in early 2023. They won 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium.
Kane got his revenge at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shortly after when he grabbed the only goal. 1-0 victoryIn the process, he became Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer.
