US President Donald Trump will attend the World Cup finals and present the trophy, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.
Trump, 80, has yet to participate in a game at the World Cup, but could still be seen ahead of the July 19 final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The World Cup starts on June 11 and will be played in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Infantino, who is now a close friend of Trump, told Fox: “We will be enjoying the final game with the president and giving the trophy to the winner.”
“Of course we’re always together,” Infantino said when asked if they’d be doing the show together.
The United States is hosting 78 of the 104 games, with Mexico and Canada also taking place.
