2026 Wimbledon Championships: Will the weather dry out for a week?

If the forecast remains unchanged, the weather will mostly dry out under the spell of the sun and turn warm again.

But Wimbledon is no stranger to the summer heat.

The hottest day ever recorded at Wimbledon in a fortnight was 1 July 2015 when the temperature hit 35.7C at nearby Kew Gardens.

The All England Club has a temperature regulation and when the heat stress index reaches 30.1C, players are allowed to request a ten-minute break.

Heat stress index is similar to wet bulb global temperature. It takes into account not only the air temperature, but also the humidity, sunlight and the temperature of the court.

The heat regulation has already been fired in the qualifying rounds this week.
