Kelly Hodgkinson 400m ahead of Sunday’s race at the UK Athletics Championships.
Olympic 800m Champion is competing in the shorter distance this summer, hoping to improve her speed and challenge for the 800m world record.
She qualified from Saturday’s heats and came out hot for the final in Birmingham, but before the finalists fell under the novice order, she left the track.
Hodgkinson looked emotional as she stood at the side of the track before returning to the Alexander Stadium.
The 24-year-old has been battling an injury in 2025 and her shock withdrawal on Sunday comes just four weeks before the London Diamond League meeting. He is set to take a shot at the 800m world record.
