He gave us Philomena Cunk and Mandy, and now Diane Morgan has created another great comic character in the humanoid robot Linda. When widow Sue (Sue Johnston) falls, her son buys an old-fashioned care robot, Ann Droid, to keep her company and help around the house. But Sue is suspicious and, naming her Linda (the name of her sister, whom she hates), vows to bring her back after a 48-hour trial. Will Linda change her mind? He may be more careless and a hindrance than a help, but there’s no denying that he has a certain charm. It’s a sitcom with a lot of heart, it delves into themes of loneliness and sadness, and Morgan’s brand of deadpan humor guarantees big laughs. Hollie Richardson
2pm, BBC One
A gloriously camp comedy about an English hairdresser obsessed with the 70s who finds himself solving mysteries in the village where he just opened a retro salon. Sally Phillips plays our fictional protagonist, Lily Petal, who is dating the fantasy of Blossom Vale after her first case, involving a teacup and saucer. HR

Let the Proms begin! With a classic celebration of American independence, it’s best to start with performances of Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Gershwin’s An American in Paris. HR

The world recently saw its first trillionaire and now we have this show: posting pictures of people spending the equivalent of an average person’s annual salary on a new smile. The scandal involves a meeting with the “rock star of facelifts” and checking out the new “tweakment”. Alex Duggins
9pm, ITV1
“Amanda… I don’t like this.” The opening words in the show (created by A Knox) were repeated by many when it was downloaded on Disney + last year, not least by Meredith Kercher’s sister who found it “difficult to understand” its purpose. The slow-burning bill is a troubling watch, in many ways. Ali Catterall

More from the quirky sitcom about a selfish, self-absorbed children’s writer who discovers she has a neurodivergent son. When Julian uses Austin’s autism to get back into mainstream life, there are complications when their book changes. Will Julian pass this test of his principles? Of course not. Phil Harrison
Anaconda (Tom Gormican, 2025), 9.15am, 8pmSky Cinema Premiere
When you’ve got the likes of Jack Black and Paul Rudd in your film, there’s not much you need to do to make it an enjoyable watch. Managing writer Tom Gormican adds a meta twist to his comedy-focused resume. Two old friends, Griff (Rudd) and wedding video director Doug (Black), and two friends (who didn’t use Thandiwe Newton, including Steve Zahn), eagerly go to the Amazon to remake Anaconda with no budget. Naturally, things immediately go pear- (or snake-) shaped. Simon Wardell
