Motamed Jamal criticizes the Confederation’s final referee and praises Algerian society.

Zamalek coach Mothamed Gamal criticized the referee’s decisions in the first leg of the Confederations Cup final against USM Algiers of Algeria.

Zamalek lost 1-0 to Ittihad Al-CapitalYesterday, Friday, at the 5th of July stadium in Algeria.

“We will focus on the second leg in Cairo in front of our fans, which will give us the motivation to win.”

“The players gave more than the technical staff required, as we defended well and focused on counter-attacks, but we did not succeed, despite creating more chances, but we will fight until the last minute to win the tournament.”

He continued. “We shouldn’t have lost, but this is football. I don’t know why Mahmoud Bentaek was sent off and we almost conceded the second goal if we lost focus in the last moments. I don’t understand why the referee counted 8 minutes as the time limit.”

“During my two-month job, I focused on the psychological aspect of the players, because there is little time to focus on technical issues, but I have 6-7 managers who help me.”

“USMA is a strong team, but every team has strengths and weaknesses, even my team. The rival fans treated us with respect and we were not subjected to any violence. The Algerian people are generous and will see more in the second leg.”
