TV tonight: Jeff Pope’s drama about the women who said they raped John Worboys | TV & radio

Trust me

Sunday, 9pm, ITV1

When Sarah Adams (Aimee-Ffion Edwards, delivering a truly heartbreaking story) hails a slightly drunken taxi at night, her driver seems amused. But John Worboys (Daniel Mays) always had a modus operandi – a compliment, a few awkward questions, an offer of a (sweet) drink and, finally, rape. Jeff Pope’s screenplay sympathetically glosses over the abuse but the consequences are far from dire: a poignant, slow-motion illustration of why only three out of every 100 reported cases of rape are met by the accusers. It’s a story of questionable male policing, peer denigration and a tough legal system – which, in Worboys’ case, led to more attacks. Phil Harrison

If this wasn’t a true story, you’d be forgiven for scoffing at what has been piling up in Sean Durkin’s harrowing story. Telling the story of the Von Erich family of wrestlers in Texas, they are a group of triumphs and heartbreaks in an otherwise heartless sport. The focus is on eldest son Kevin – an incredibly muscular Zac Efron – who strives for success but finds his father Fritz (Holt McCallany) grooming his brothers David (Harris Dickinson) and Kerry (Jeremy Allen White) to shoot for the world title instead.
