What did Jordan’s coach say?
Jordan coach Jamal Al-Salami made the remarkable announcement in which he spoke about his vision of the identity of the top contenders to win the 2027 AFC Asian Cup title after the draw ceremony in Diriyah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening.
The draw placed Jordan alongside Bahrain, Uzbekistan and North Korea in Group Two, a group that observers described as balanced but not without difficulty given the teams’ similar levels and their ability to compete until the final stage.
Al-Salami said in media statements after the draw. “The Saudi Arabian team is the first contender for the tournament, in addition to strong teams such as the UAE and Indonesia, and they will have to be treated with great caution during the tournament.”

The Moroccan coach added that football in the Arab region is developing significantly, noting that the Saudi League has become the focus of attention for followers in the Arab world, saying:
Al-Salami referred to the crucial Al-Hilal-Al-Nasr derby in the league race, stressing that it is one of the most popular and widely followed Arab clashes, and hoped for the brilliance and victory of Al-Hilal’s star goalkeeper Yassin Bounou.
He concluded his speech by commenting on the situation of Moroccan striker Abdel Razak Hamdalla, praising his football history and stressing that his continued performance at this level at his current age reflects a great artistic value that deserves support and a wider technical circle to benefit from his experience.
