Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed Casemiro will be ‘fit’ for next week’s home game against Nottingham Forest after the Premier League’s goalless draw against Sunderland.
It’s a positive for United fans as they get a proper farewell for the Brazilian midfielder, given his impact during his four years at Old Trafford.
To make matters worse, the 34-year-old has failed to win all four league games this season without starting the lineup.
At least they got a point at Sunderland.
They were second best to Regis LeBryce’s side after winning their last three meetings and it was easy to sympathize when the Black Cats boss expressed his disappointment at his side not getting all three points.

The truth is, there really was no choice.
It should have been Maino and Mount, especially as Fernandez is still chasing assists to match Tyree Henry and Kevin de Bruyne at 20 in one Premier League campaign.
The result was a United performance that saw Matthews Cunha save Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roff in stoppage time and not have a single shot on target.
The hosts had more possession, more shots and a higher Expected Goals (xG). Le Bris said his side had ‘more control’.
