Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are headed for the city cliff

Manchester City are set to open talks with one of their star players over a contract extension amid growing interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

The “TEAMtalk” network reported that “Real” Madrid and “Bayern” are monitoring the Croatian Josko Guardioli, whose contract with “Manchester City” is extended until the summer of 2028.

Guardiol has established himself as one of manager Pep Guardiola’s most important players since joining Manchester City from Leipzig in 2023.

After making progress in the Phil Foden case, the focus is now on extending Guardiola’s contract.

“Manchester City” management is aware of the growing interest of elite European clubs in the versatile Croatian defender.

TEAMtalk has explained that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have contacted Guardiola’s representatives to inquire about his current situation at the Etihad Stadium.

Both clubs are looking for reinforcements at left centre-back, a position Guardiol is very good at, which made him a very attractive option for Real and Bayern Munich.

Despite this, Manchester City remain confident in the player and believe that Guardiol is happy at Manchester City and that negotiations over a new contract will progress positively when negotiations officially begin.

Guardiol is currently recovering from a broken leg he suffered earlier this year but is progressing well in his rehabilitation.
