The US military kills two people in a new attack in the eastern Pacific Ocean | Story

The killing marks the third attack in May alone by the US military in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

The United States military said they killed two people, leaving one survivor, in their attack on ships in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced the attack on Friday, along with a video that showed a moving boat being hit by a missile and then exploding in a fireball.

SOUTHCOM oversees US military operations in the Caribbean and Latin America. It also claimed that the ship was operated by “Designated Terrorist Organizations” but did not provide any evidence to support this.

“Intelligence has confirmed that the ship passes through the notorious narco routes in the Eastern Pacific and is involved in smuggling,” it said.

It said no army personnel were injured in the operation.

This is the third attack in the month of May. It comes days after the US military report killing three people in the same conspiracy.

Since the US began operations in September targeting what it says are drug traffickers, it has killed more than 170 people, although estimates vary.

The Trump administration has defended the protests by comparing drug trafficking to armed attacks on the US and designating many gangs involved in the drug trade as terrorist organizations.

International legal experts, human rights activists and regional leaders reject the US’s claims, warning that the strikes are extrajudicial killings and that there are no arguments to justify this.

Experts say that even if the people on the boat were drug traffickers, they should face the law, instead of facing murderous violence.

Families in Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago have spoken out in the wake of previous attacks, holding out for victims they were not “narco-terrorists” as Trump has said, but fishermen are irregular workers who make regular trips between the Caribbean and South America.
