Exciting statements of the Portuguese star
Portugal’s Ruben Neves, Al Hilal’s midfielder, made emotional statements after Al-Zaim won the Two Holy Mosques Cup for the tenth time in their history, defeating Al-Khulud (2-1) at Al-Enmaa Stadium in Jeddah on Friday night.
The match saw plenty of excitement from its opening minutes, after Al Hilal fell behind early before managing to overturn the result and come back strongly to win the title, on a night that showed the team’s character and ability to withstand pressure in big encounters.
Neves’ comments came after the crowning to shed light on Al Hilal’s ambitions in the next round, especially with a crucial derby against Al Nasr next Tuesday night in Round 32 of the Roche Pro League, in light of the fierce battle for the league title until the final rounds.
Ruben Neves said in his statements to the media after winning the cup. “Al Hilal is the biggest club and the best team in Asia without any doubt and I am very lucky that this club contacted me at the right time in my career.”

“Al-Hilal appeared as if it was a light that illuminated my life and returned my passion and ambition, and I really needed this step, so I feel very proud of what I live here with this club and its fans.”
The Portuguese midfielder continued his speech, saying: “After the big disappointment in the Asian Championship, we started to treat each match as if it were an independent final because we knew that any new slip-up could make it very difficult for us.”
He continued. “The last matches were not easy at all and all the teams made things very difficult, but we managed to handle the pressure and if I’m not mistaken, after losing to Asia we played several finals in a row and today we won a very important title.”
“We have three more matches left and our aim is clear to fight for the Roshan Professional League title until the last minute, and therefore we will look at the next Al-Nasr game as another must-win final.”
