Will it be a case of the third time being the charm for Sam Burgess’ Warrington?
Under his leadership, Warrington have reached the last two Challenge Cup finals.
But to return to Wembley they will have to overcome last year’s winners Hull KR.
There are a number of high-profile absentees at The Wire, including captain George Williams’ lengthy absence with a neck injury, while full-back Kai Taylor-Way is out for six weeks with an ankle problem.
“The last few times we’ve played each other, apart from last year’s final, we’ve been pretty scrappy and we’re missing some key guys,” Burgess told BBC Sport.
“But we’ll be up for a good contest on Sunday and I’m looking forward to Hull KR at their best.”
Warrington Hull have lost five games in a row against KR and Burgess suggested he will have to rely on the younger members of his squad.
“I think it’s nice to have some young guys out there, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and all that comes with the competition,” Burgess added.
“I think it’s always exciting, seeing the young players come through these weeks. It’s exciting for them and good to see the build-ups, but definitely the experienced guys have to stand up this weekend.”
