The captain of Argentina talked about his relationship with the Portuguese legend

Argentine legend Lionel Messi has said that the rivalry that brought him together with Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was a beautiful sports competition, stressing that it is normal in the world of football.

During an interview with Argentine journalist Polo Alvarez, Messi continued. “I was at Barcelona and he was at Real Madrid and we fought for everything collectively and individually, so people were always comparing us.”

Messi and Ronaldo are set to compete in the 2026 World Cup against Argentina and Portugal in what is expected to be the last match for each of them.
