Luke Littler made it a hat-trick of overnight wins, claiming a record-equalling sixth of the 2026 Premier League darts season as he beat Luke Humphries 6-5 in the final on the 14th in Leeds.
Leeds United fan Humphries, in the process, was denied a hat-trick of his own as, having won at Leeds in 2024 and 2025, he was denied this time as he missed a match dart when leading 5–4.
Humphries dropped a dart at the top for a crucial break of the throw, opening the door for Littler to claim it in the next leg to equal his own record of six overnight wins from 2025 and further extend his lead at the top of the table.
Three points courtesy of his quarter-final and semi-final wins over Josh Rock and Stephen Bunting softened Humphries’ defeat to move into the final play-off spot with at least two weeks to go.
He sits fourth with 19 points, one more than Michael van Gerwen, who was beaten by Littler in the quarter-finals.
Luke Littler, speaking to Sky Sports:
“A very good night. Apart from the first match (between Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton) every game went to a last-leg decider so the crowd definitely got their money’s worth tonight!
“I am very happy with myself and now I can go on to break my own record.
“It was very important to miss Luke for the match. I was bummed about it. But it was another good game between us.
“I want to win three nights in a row! I’m clean now and I just have to hold on to the top spot.”
Littler reached a fifth-straight night final courtesy of victory over van Gerwen and second-placed Clayton.
Littler’s meeting with van Gerwen began in somewhat comical fashion as the pair attempted to miss a total of 21 darts in the doubles before finding their form – Littler landing a superb 141 checkout in the fifth leg of the match.
As for Humphries, he got the better of Rock and Bunting to secure a final meeting between the world’s top two for a second week, although the latter spurned a golden opportunity to win the semi-final.
Bunting, seventh in the table and running out of time to clinch a play-off spot, led 5-3 before losing his throw twice as Humphries took the final three legs, with ‘The Bullet’ dropping three match darts.
That means he is six points behind Humphries in fourth, while Gian van Veen is three in sixth and van Gerwen one in fifth.
“Bunting should be kicking himself.” John Part of Sky Sports said. “It’s left to Topps to play well and wrap it up, he’s really had some chances.
“It was a very costly miss for Bunting. It was the last chance. After the way he played, he will be very disappointed.”
Van Veen was defeated by Bunting in the quarterfinals, while Price lost 6–2 to Clayton in the only match of the night that was not decided. He is third with 21 points, three times ahead of MVG.
The Rock are now officially out of contention for finals night, still eight points off the bottom of the table, 11 out of the playoffs and just 10 points to play for.
