The Moroccans’ anxiety is growing after Rayo Vallecano star Elias Akhoumash suffered an injury before the match against Strasbourg in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final.

As “Marca” newspaper informs, Akhumash went to the dressing room of the Spanish national team in tears due to the injury.

The Moroccan player felt discomfort in the left muscle, which is why he missed the European match.

Rayo Vallecano advanced to the final of the European Conference League after a 1-0 back-to-back win over French side Strasbourg.

Ahomache’s injury comes at a sensitive time for the Atlas Lions as coach Mohamed Wehbe prepares to announce Morocco’s national team squad for the World Cup finals.

The Moroccan team is in the third group of the World Cup, next to Brazil, Haiti and Scotland.
