Jesus. I have achieved unprecedented success with Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal is ahead of us.

Portugal’s Jorge Jesus confirmed that he has achieved unprecedented success with Al-Nasr thanks to a string of wins and consistent form, explaining that Al-Hilal have an advantage over his side ahead of the much-anticipated derby.

Al-Nasr scored an impressive 4-2 win over Al-Shabaab in their Roshen League Round 33 match on Thursday evening.

“When we prepared for the Al-Shabab game, we knew it was a difficult match because it was a derby and Al-Shabab have special players, and we knew that if we wanted to win we had to be in better shape than against Al-Qadisiya, so I brought in 4 new players who were not physically ready today.

“Now we are waiting for a derby against a rival. It is a difficult match and for us it is considered a championship match. We are fully aware of its importance and are dealing with it with full concentration, because small details can determine the outcome.”

“When you get to the end of the season and you have two or three games left, you don’t have time to come up with new strategies or ideas. Rather, you try to maintain your current ideas and team stability. It’s good that no player is suspended today ahead of the Al Hilal clash and that’s important for us.”

He added: “What is negative about Al-Nasr?” Is it the loss to Al-Qadisiya? This is normal in football. The team played 20 matches and lost only one match. Will Al-Nasr be judged on this game alone? Football is not built on one result.”

“Never in Al-Nasr’s history has a team played 21 matches and lost only one game, and this is an achievement that does not come easily.”

“We don’t play alone on the field. Rivals also have players of similar value to those of Al-Nasri. We have played 50 matches this season and we don’t have a list with 30 players, while our opponents have 13 foreign players and we saw how they rested their players in the Asian Elite Championship (Al-Hilal).

Al-Nasr lead the Roshen League table with 82 points and are five ahead of runners-up Al-Hilal ahead of next Tuesday’s highly-anticipated game.
