Women’s Challenge Cup semi-finals: Wembley awaits two of Wigan, York, Leeds and St Helens

Wigan’s all-conquering 2025 campaign has realized their potential and promise in spectacular fashion.

Head coach Denis Bates, himself a multiple cup winner with Wigan, means everything to watch the players he encourages build their own history at a club synonymous with success.

“It’s great to see the pictures of the girls around the stadium this year that the club is so good at,” Bates told BBC Sport.

“Most of these girls went and supported those Wigan men’s teams that had pictures of success, and now they see pictures of Izzy Roe, Jenna Foubister, Grace Banks, Mary Coleman, Liam Farrell.

“It makes a huge difference for them.”

York now stand in the way of the holders’ bid to retain their crown on Saturday.
