Inzaghi responds to criticism. We are the fiercest team… and winning the cup is not easy.

Italy’s Simone Inzaghi, Al Hilal’s coach, was keen to counter his critics at a press conference ahead of the Two Holy Mosques Cup final against Al-Khulud, stressing that Al-Zaim are the most ferocious attacking team.

Al Hilal are set to play Al Khulud in the King’s Cup final tomorrow, Friday, as Inzaghi looks forward to his first title with the Asian giants, while the opposition look to make history.

“Criticism is part of football and you have to accept it, but if you look at Al Hilal’s stats, you will see that we are the fiercest team in attack and create the most chances in goal.”

“It’s true that Al Hilal suffered some mistakes after the World Cup, but that’s the case with any team. We’re always trying to learn and improve, but offensively the team is doing well and we haven’t lost a game in regular time yet.

He continued. “Facing Al-Khulud will not be easy. They are a good team and they played a great match against Al-Ittihad a few days ago, so we know the task is difficult and we have to be patient.”

Regarding the preference of Salem Al-Dosari over Sultan Mandesh, despite the latter’s brilliance, Inzaghi said: “I have a lot of options in all positions and I think every match has its own circumstances.”

He concluded. “Winning the trophy is not easy and I ask the fans to support us in tomorrow’s game and we will try to give everything we have.”
