UFC Freedom 250: Why Some White House Event Tickets Cost $1.5M

According to respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, some tickets for the UFC’s one-of-a-kind event at the White House next month will cost around £1.5m (£1.1m).

The promotion is set to host UFC Freedom 250 at the home of the President of the United States on June 14, marking the 250th anniversary of America’s Independence Day.

UFC president Dana White said 4,300 people will watch the event on the South Lawn this week, most of them members of the military, and 85,000 tickets will be given away free to members of the public to watch the event at nearby Ellipse Park.

The remaining numbers are made up by “high rollers” who pay $1.5 million to watch the show as a luxury package.

“It’s a so-called partner investment,” Helwani said.

Here’s the offer: UFC Freedom 250, partner welcome reception, press conference reserved seating, event weigh-ins, general admission access, Zac Brown concert access, UFC 329 floor tickets and WWE event unification ring signage.

“It’s a deck that sends high rollers to a lot of influential people.”

BBC Sport has asked the UFC for clarification on tickets for the event.
