Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele has sought help from his former Barcelona team-mate Xavi to deal with criticism after qualifying for the Champions League final.
Dembele led Paris Saint-Germain Champions League final with a 1/1 drawYesterday evening, Wednesday, in the return match of the semi-finals, noting that the first match ended with a 4/5 victory for the French team.
Last season, Xavi said a few weeks before the Barcelona-Dortmund Champions League match. “Many people think I’m not good at playing football… They have no idea. That’s the truth, but it’s understandable. After all, it’s football and everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
Ousmane Dembele posted a video of Xavi’s comments after yesterday’s game to hit back at his critics.
The Frenchman took to social media to share a clip of his friend Xavi, which comes as a surprise as it comes just minutes after the Parisians qualified for the Champions League final.
The Frenchman’s first reaction was to share a video of Xavi, with whom he has been close friends since they were both in the Barcelona first team.
Dembele then posted other photos of himself celebrating with the Paris Saint-Germain players in the dressing room.
Dembele has come under fire earlier this season, particularly with the team’s fluctuating results at domestic level.
But now Dembele seems happy, and it’s no surprise. The French international has been living the dream at Paris Saint-Germain since winning the Champions League trophy under Luis Enrique a year ago, which lifted him to the top of the world.
He then won the Ballon d’Or in 2025, and here he is back in the final, playing a prominent role, scoring three goals and providing an assist in the semi-final against Bayern Munich. He is considered one of the most important players of this historic team of “Paris Saint-Germain”.
