The Austrian football player expressed his surprise regarding the decision of referee João Pinheiro
Bayern Munich star Konrad Leimer has spoken about the controversial moment his side witnessed against PSG when Nuno Mendes was handballed, believing the crucial refereeing decisions did not go in the Bavarians’ favour.
The second leg of the Champions League semi-finals ended with a score of 1-1 at Allianz Arena this Wednesday evening. The Paris team used their home advantage (5-4) in the first leg to qualify to face Arsenal in the final.
When asked if the ball hit his hand first (as the umpire awarded it), Leimer said: “It didn’t look that way from the replay. I always find it funny, I was 100% going to say no, but sometimes you don’t feel that way when you’re playing. I felt like I just hit the ball with my body. I was trying to pass it clearly to the player.”
